Introduction to Writing Argumentative Essays

This program will give you an overview of what Academic Writing, specifically Argumentative Essay type, is like. This is a program that Ms Bea created based on her personal experience doing a Master’s at The University of Queensland combined with what she learned from the Academic Writing training provided by Australia Awards Scholarships/DFAT/IALF/UQ.  This program also incorporates 5 essays (her own assignments) during her studies, which received high marks.

Even if you’ll study at a different country/university, the principles and tips provided in this program should help establish a good foundation in Academic Writing that you will be able to expand on/develop later, adjusting it to your specific circumstances at your future university. But we have also included a reference to a collection of UK university essays for your own perusal.

If you need specific guidance later when you begin your studies and start working on your essays, you can book a Zoom session with Ms Bea (if available). This is not included in this program and there will be further announcements again later.

1. Recordings of 3 Zoom sessions (@60-90 minutes) that were held in July-August 2023 discussing the main aspects of Writing an Argumentative Essay.

2. Additional Materials and Guidance (PDFs, videos, etc).

3. Exercises on Telegram (access valid until the end of March 2025). You will be invited to a Telegram Channel and Group, where you are welcome to ask questions.
